Department History

The Seminole Fire Department was founded in 1936 under the direction of Chief John E Longbotham. Our current station was built and dedicated in 1999, with future plans of expansion and growth at the time. At the time only a few apparatus were housed there. We now have a fleet of 15 pieces of apparatus to handle any type of incident that may occur.

In 2020 the City of Seminole hired our first full time employee, Chief D.A. Dagley. Chief Dagley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience needed to continue to grow this department into one of the finest fire departments in the great State of Texas. Looking towards the future, the Seminole Fire Department plans to start hiring additional staff to support the volunteers.
