Duties

The City Secretary is an officer of the City, appointed by the City Council. The responsibilities of the office of the City Secretary include:

  • Custodian of all official records of the City
  • Maintain and preserve the minutes and records of the City Council
  • Officer of Elections
  • Maintaining the City’s Code of Ordinances
  • Process TABC alcoholic beverage permits
  • Responsible for providing documents requested under the Public Information Act
