The landfill, approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as an Arid Exempt Landfill, plays a crucial role in waste management for the community. The landfill consists of two pits:

  • Type I is designated for residential and commercial waste
  • Type IV is designated to be utilized for construction waste

The daily tonnage allowed is 20 tons per day per pit.

Dumpsters are provided to residents within city limits.

*Four houses share one dumpster.


Dumpsters are provided for disposal of:

  • Household garbage, refuse, rubbish and trash
  • Please flatten all cardboard boxes
  • Place grass clippings and leaves inside dumpster
  • Place plastic bags and other “blowables” in trash bags
  • Please bag household garbage and tie the end of the bags

DO NOT place any of the following in the dumpster:

  • Hazardous waste
  • Pesticides or herbicides, including empty containers
  • Manure or stable matter
  • Bulky items
  • Large tree limbs or trunks
  • Roofing or building materials
  • Construction or demolition debris
  • Dirt, rocks or heavy items
  • Heavy metals, engine blocks or large auto parts
  • Dead animal carcasses
  • Burning or smoldering materials

Large or heavy items should go behind YOUR fence. Please call the Sanitation Department at 432-758-3705 to arrange for pickup.

Please keep the dumpster lids closed.
