Seminole Police Applicant Requirements: (Basic Police Officer Certification preferred but not necessary)
- Age 21 or older
- Is a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license at the time of employment
- No felony convictions, history of criminal or improper conduct, or poor driving record, which may affect the suitability for law enforcement work
- Has never been convicted of any family violence offenses
- If prior military service or law enforcement, an applicant must have an honorable discharge *Must meet all conditions required to obtain or maintain the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Certification
Starting Base Pay: (Recruit or just out of the academy) $49,920.00 annually/ with current stability pay $57,600.00 (Higher for those with prior experience)
Education Pay:
- College hours without a degree: .50 per hour per check
- Associate’s degree (accredited college) $40.00 per check ($1,040.00 a year)
- Bachelor’s degree (accredited college) $80.00 per check ($2,040.00 a year)
Certification Pay:
- Intermediate Certification: $40.00 per check ($1040.00 a year)
- Advanced Certification: $40.00 per check ($1040.00 a year)
- Masters Certification: $40.00 per check ($1040.00 a year)
Education/Certification pay (Capped at $120.00 per check, $3,120.00 per year)
Benefits:
- Currently approved for 4 stability paychecks (extra paycheck per quarter based on pay scale). Example: starting pay of $49,920.00 will result in extra pay once a quarter of $1,920.00 for a total of $7,680.00 per year added to base pay ($57, 600.00).

Equipment & Uniforms:
- Will be supplied duty uniforms, protective vest

Currently operate on 12-hour shifts with every other weekend off
Process:
- Contact the Seminole Police Department, check on City of Seminole, Texas website or come to the Seminole Police Department and pick up and complete an Application/Personal History Packet.
- Personnel History Packets can be obtained through the TCOLE website
- Return application/Personal History Packet either to the Department or through Department email
- A thorough background will be conducted along with an initial interview with the Chief or his designees.
- An additional interview may be used in cases of multiple applications for an opening.
- Medical and psychological examinationrequired.
- Drug test require
- Must pass physical agility test to attend the academy.
