Citations

Your signature on a citation is not a guilty plea, it is a promise to appear in court.

You must appear in court no earlier than two (2) days and no later than the date printed on the citation. A phone call is not an appearance.

All juveniles (under 17) MUST appear before the judge (judge is available on Wednesdays only) with a parent or legal guardian. All minors (under 21) who receive a citation for alcohol or tobacco offenses MUST appear before the judge.

You are expected to dress appropriately and act in a respectful manner when in court.

  • No revealing or offensive clothing
  • No hats/caps unless otherwise noted
  • Arrive on time
  • All cell phones, and electronic devices should be switched to silent mode
  • Be respectful to the judge and court staff
  • No tobacco of any kind
  • No profane language
  • No food or drink
  • No weapons are allowed except by law enforcement personnel

Failure to appear or contact the court to make arrangements will result in a warrant being issued and additional fees assessed.
